capacity increases capacity to Buenos Aires LAN

by Gaston Doval

Faced with a poor utilization of capacity and programming of widebody aircraft and the lack of frequencies available in the Mexico - Buenos Aires, AeroMexico decided this week to increase the capacity of our nation's capital.

competition on this route is low, but the lack of available frequencies dictates the Bilateral Treaty for each side (14 frequencies per week) appears to be insufficient for the needs of the airline azteca. Currently, Mexicana Airlines is using 12 frequencies of the 14 awarded. The other 2 are held by AeroMexico. The Argentine government gave in to the other 3 frequencies that correspond to the Argentine airline, but should be returned in case of need. Still, flying AeroMexico is currently 3 times per week to the City of Buenos Aires.

The change in trading is due to wanting to make better use of aircraft on a route that is still giving good results for AeroMexico, unlike Santiago de Chile, thanks to lack of aircraft left relegated about their direct competition.
